U4GM Where To Look For Prickly Pears ARC Raiders Guide

Let's be honest, Scrappy is easily the best companion you could ask for in this game. But if you want him to actually do something besides look cute, you have got to upgrade his scavenging skills. That means you need to find Prickly Pears. It sounds easy enough, right? You would think you could just walk up to a cactus and grab one. Unfortunately, it is way more complicated than that. While you are out scavenging for general ARC Raiders Items to build up your loadout, you will quickly realize these fruits are a total nightmare to locate. If you do not know exactly where to look, you are going to be wandering the wasteland for hours with absolutely nothing to show for it.
The Reality of Spawn Rates
Technically, these things are supposed to drop from cacti all over the map. The general theory is that they are plentiful on the outskirts of the Buried City or the northwestern parts of Dam Battlegrounds. That is what people say, anyway. In reality? It is a massive grind. I spent an entire evening running around the edge of the Dam map expecting a huge haul and found zero. It is incredibly frustrating when the game hints at one thing, but the RNG just refuses to cooperate. You can waste a lot of time checking the wrong spots if you are not careful.
Where to Actually Look
If you want to save yourself a massive headache, head straight to Marano Park. It is the central Nature loot zone in the Buried City. It isn't a guaranteed jackpot every time, but it feels way more reliable than wandering the open desert. I have had runs where I snagged two or three in a single go. You have to look closely at the ground near the base of the cactus. Stick strictly to the Nature zones and ignore the rest. It is still a bit hit or miss, but your odds are way better here than anywhere else on the map.
Secure the Goods Immediately
Here is the golden rule: the second you see a Prickly Pear, shove it straight into your Safe Pocket. Do not risk losing it to some random sniper camping a ridge. There is no "found in raid" restriction here, so as long as it is in your secure slot, you are golden. You need six of these bad boys, plus some Olives and a Cat Bed, to finally upgrade Scrappy. Once you have them secured, get back to Speranza and turn them in before you do something silly and lose your progress.
Why You Should Keep Hoarding
Even after Scrappy is happy, do not stop picking these up. The Expeditions system needs a massive amount of Provisions value. I managed to stack up nearly 150,000 Coin just by hoarding produce instead of selling it piece by piece. It is always better to have a stash. You never know when an update will make a random item super important. If you are struggling to keep up with the economy or just want to skip the grind, some players look to ARC Raiders Items cheap to get ahead, but honestly, just building a habit of saving everything you find is the best way to play. It is better to be safe than sorry when the next big event drops.
